Nature of the season – sita ruksa (cold and dry)

  • Disturbances of agni is prominent, Vata gets aggravated the strength will be less & digestives and carminatives must be used.

  • Oliy, hot, sweet, sour, salty food is advised.

  • Drink boiled water, meat soups, old honey, Eat Barley, wheat, soup and pulses with ginge.

  • Spicy, bitter, astringent food must be a avoided.

  • Buttermilk, day sleep, sex and exertion must be avoided.

  • Vasti treatment can be done.

Common diseases in this season

  • Rheumatic and neurological diseases.
  • Diarrhoea
  • Indigestion
  • Fever.
  • All vata rogas.

Drugs of choice – Tulasi (Ocimum sanctum), Rasna (Pluchea Lanccolata), etc.,

Grisma Rtu ( Summer)

Nature of the season – Usna ruksa(hot and dry)

  • Sun will be dominant which casues loss of kapha (dehydration) and accumulation of vata

  • Eat light, oliy, cool, sweet foods with lot of fluids.

  • Drink buffalo’s milk (boiled) with jaggery.

  • Sweetened fruit juices, rice flakes, meat of jungle animals, milk ghee, grapes, cocunut water and corn flour are good.

  • Do minimal exercises

  • Sleeping in day time is indicated.

  • Avoid excess salt, sour and spicy foods.

  • Sex is advised once in fifteen days.

  • Frequent bath with cold water and application of sandal paste are good.
